Always Beside Us

Honoring the lives of people affected by substance use

For Overdose Awareness Day and National Recovery Month, SUPHR is hosting two FREE events to honor the lives of those we have lost, reduce stigma, and come together as a community. The series title Always Beside Us has dual meanings: a reminder of our community’s support for one another, as well as acknowledging those we have lost that will never truly leave our side. Scroll down for more info about each event.

August 31st, 4-8pm

Tap into your creative side for a day of remembrance and expression. We invite you to create an art piece to remember a loved one who was lost to substance use, reflect on your own addiction or recovery journey, or reflect on how your community has been affected by substance use and overdose.

We encourage you to bring photos of your loved ones, yourself, or any images you’d like to include in your art piece.

We will be running a recording studio where individuals can talk about their artwork or tell a story that encompasses the theme of this event.
