Frank William Jones
My beautiful son, Frankie was 21 years old when he overdosed from bad heroin. He did not want to die, he had been sober for almost a year. In 2008 there were no chances of helping, these kids were imprisoned and the juvenile justice system took advantage of parents, especially if you were a good paying source. They imprisoned my son at age 13 for having marijuana at school, a small amount like a joint. They sent him away for over 18 months between the local facility and one on the other side of the state, 5 hours away. All this did was cause more problems and deeper resentment, pain and suffering for my child. He continued this path through adult prison. He was never charged for more than possession, about enough to get high once or twice. The juvenile system destroyed our family, humiliated me as an individual and killed the life of a beautiful, athletic, smart and kind soul, my son, Frank William Jones. It saddens me that we could not do better as a community, justice system or nation to save these children. It makes no sense.
