This event will be held at Ride Free Org in the IMPACT Services building in Kensington - 1952 E. Allegheny Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19134
Tap into your creative side for a day of remembrance and expression. We invite you to create an art piece to remember a loved one who was lost to substance use, reflect on your own addiction or recovery journey, or reflect on how your community has been affected by substance use and overdose.
We encourage you to bring photos of your loved ones, yourself, or any images you’d like to include in your art piece.
We will be running a recording studio where individuals can talk about their artwork or tell a story that encompasses the theme of our gathering.
Always Beside Us. During Overdose Awareness and National Recovery Month, SUPHR invites the Philly community to reflect on the impact the overdose crisis has had in our city. These two planned events aim to celebrate the lives of those lost, reduce stigma, and honor those currently on the substance use recovery spectrum. The series title Always Beside Us has dual meanings: a reminder of the Philadelphia community’s support for one another, as well as acknowledging that those we have lost never truly leave us.
