  • The Philadelphia Department of Public Health (PDPH)’s Substance Use program is hiring a Harm Reduction Specialist who will provide essential support for all of the program’s harm reduction activities. The individual filling this position will continue harm reduction activities currently in place as well as proactively seek out new opportunities for outreach. Emphasis will be placed on community education and distribution of Naloxone and test strips as well as activities relating to safe syringe disposal, drug-related litter clean-up, and coordinating community outreach activities during overdose surges. The Harm Reduction Specialist will report to the Harm Reduction Manager and work very closely with interdepartmental staff within PDPH-SUPHR, The Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services, the Fire Department’s Emergency Medical Services, the Police Department, the Medical Examiner’s Office and health care providers associated with all major Philadelphia area hospital emergency departments.

  • This position is responsible for providing programmatic leadership within the Philadelphia Department of Public Health (PDPH)’s Division of Substance Use Prevention and Harm Reduction (SUPHR). The Harm Reduction Manager will oversee the Harm Reduction Team responsible for developing and coordinating harm reduction activities citywide. Emphasis will be placed on community education and distribution of naloxone, a life-saving medication that reverses opioid-related overdoses, as well as activities relating to the distribution of fentanyl test strips, xylazine test strips, and coordinating community outreach activities during overdose surges. This position oversees the scheduling and implementation of Harm Reduction 101 and Overdose Reversal Training. This position will be responsible for creating a citywide training plan and strategy. This position will work with City partners to promote harm reduction strategies and facilitate access to care for people who use drugs. The Harm Reduction Manager will report to the Director of SUPHR and work very closely with internal staff and external partners.

  • The Philadelphia Department of Public Health (PDPH)’s Substance Use Prevention and Harm Reduction Division is hiring a CRS Field Navigator who will provide support to the Division’s efforts to reduce community blight in neighborhoods most affected by substance use. The individual filling this position will be responsible for supporting Project Reach’s Block to Block initiative designed to provide low barrier employment for community residents affected by economic inequalities. This individual will also be responsible for engaging community members with ongoing concerns in their communities and supporting Block to Block participants’ access to necessary resources. The CRS Field Navigator will report to the Environmental Manager and work very closely with staff within PDPH’s Substance Use Division, the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disability Services and the Opioid Response Unit in the Managing Director’s Office

  • The Philadelphia Department of Public Health (PDPH)’s Substance Use Prevention and Harm Reduction Division is hiring a Project Reach Lead who will provide essential support to the Division’s effort to reduce community blight in neighborhoods most affected by substance use. The individual filling this position will be specifically responsible for creating and managing an intensive neighborhood clean-up program within PDPH that employs city residents to pick up trash, including discarded drug paraphernalia. The Project Reach Lead will also be responsible for engaging community organizations and neighborhood residents to understand ongoing needs and identify opportunities to address concerns. The Project Reach Lead will report to the Environmental Services Manager and work very closely with staff within PDPH’s Substance Use Division, the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual Disability Services and the Opioid Response Unit in the Managing Director’s Office.
